| Calmand Qual is an unique creation in japanese music scene. One of it's kind, dark and difficult in reception, hardly categorized music with Hibiki's vocal gives an insane atmosphere to the band. Welcome in world of "silent suffring". But maybe I should say "welcome in the real world". ------------ Harlock: Hello. Your name - Calmando Qual - is a combination of words: italian "calmando", which means "quiet" and german: "qual" - "suffering". Is that name means something more for you? Besides that, it fits perfect to your works. Hibiki: I think that "A quiet suffering" is applied to living each person. "A quiet suffering" which I felt is holding down the small thing by big power, like the abuse to the small child and various discriminating problems, which appears well in news etc. I named the band after heart of the people, such as feeling sad in the reality of general society and they carry out own intention. A large number of Music which made a the theme of Anger and sadness in pain of lurking in a social shadow . Tak:If you have a right course in words perceived, the interpretation to its "pain" will be produced naturally, and you will understand that is never sending in the negative meaning. The keyword which is visible to a negative apparently, but we have been going to tell the true fight song which lurks there. Harlock: Not so long ago you have released your second maxi-single MORAL POLLUTION. Great title, that makes me think about current worlds social-politic situation. I had no chance to listen to that single, so maybe you could tell something more about it? Kenka: A meaning is not restricted. I feel gladdest that took in your hand consider the meaning of it. Only the meaning written to the dictionary is not a correct answer. Tasc: That's right. Tak: I think it is an index with which we exist. It is happy if the link and gap of the image of language and the image of sound can be enjoyed and obtained to an audience side. MAYA: I may be difficult and don't understand (laugh)  Harlock: MORAL POLLUTION has very interesting cover. A fly wit "totenkopf" symbol on its wing and a number "13". Does that cover has any hidden meaning? Tasc: It is called "belzebub" details... Hibiki: No.13 is said unlucky number,because we think that "lucky number" it is general conversely (laugh) It actually the designer of Qual thought and put in with "13". It was decided to be "Feel nice!" all together. Tak: Although demonic implications were given, never, it is religious, there is nothing and it quoted from the form-uniqueness of a motif to the last. MAYA: Totenkopf and No.13 is very good by offensive touch. I want to come to buy from a jacket. Harlock: I have noticed some allusions to european culture in Calmando Qual's works. I am talking about using some christian elements in your image, in "dark" version as well. Tak: I think it is dwelling in our vocal (laugh) Tasc: I seldom know the Europe culture. I'm wishing if Calmando Qual becomes existence like God of the new character for listeners. MAYA: I will consider Europe first, thing of art and fine arts. I wants to make the influence from the Europe culture reflected in a work from now on. Harlock: Let's talk about lyrics of Calmando Qual. As "position" in bands Hibiki says "storyteller". It makes us think that lyrics, besides music, are very important in your works. Unfortunatelly they are only in Japanese, so could you tell us whats those lyrics are about? Hibiki: Like "a quiet pain" which answered with the question of a band name, words have also led to the meaning of such contents. Music also likes a enjoyable thing only at a groove, Although , If the lyrics are written personally, "a quiet pain" of its inside will come out. It is the "the spirit of language" to have applied to mind as an expression person in the world of Calmando Qual. I think it my duty as a "storyteller" which to be able to throw a thought toward the people currently heard. Although some talks have been different, words are also rebellious and are also cynical-like. An example is raised, The music PARADOX is in a single. The words "You and I Are like an semen rounded and thrown away?" are in it. It has the meaning "It is accidental that a great man and I have been born, and it is meaningless, and would only be able to do, without being rounded by tissue by chance". Harlock: On your official website we can see some photos from your live shows. I am really impressed. It must be great show. What does your japanese fans says about it? Hibiki: Although Live prizes the view of the world, for the reason, heard that "groove is not known or cannot behave wildly". etc.., well,it can also do how to catch Qual is not the same as other bands. Kenka: They are seeming to enjoy themselves, we are also performing happily. Tasc: I seems that they are enjoying themselves also in such portions to which we are elaborated in visual production unlike other bands. MAYA: They are enjoying the atmosphere of the peculiar live different from other bands. I think that with music called ANTI FLAG, the band and the fan are united and are rising. Tak: Probably, they are enjoyed. We consider at pride that it is heresy in this period. because, Everybody's opinion which follows is valued. Harlock: I am very impressed with your flyer made as a tarot card (with number 13). This picture is awesome and has very dark sense. I'm asking about inspiration of making this photo and meaning of it. Tak: Especially it was not necessarily conscious of religion nature, and it was used as a symbol object which imagined unreality, unusually and resistance. Harlock: I think, that Calmando Qual, with its dark music and visual side could intend to European listeners as well. Do you think about Europe as your potential, future target? Hibiki: Although I'm not conscious of Europe, I am happy if you could be pleased! Consciousness is turned also to Europe after this (laugh) Tasc: I want to make it the band which involves in not only Europe but the whole world. Kenka: Of course, I think! MAYA: I am yearning after Europe very much, I want to become the band evaluated also in Europe. Because, I think that improvement in the further music nature must be aimed at. Tak: I'm very interested in a meaning called overseas. Moreover, the reaction from the listeners there is also very interesting. Harlock: Calmando Qual is extremely original band. It's very hard to categorize you to some particular music stream. Are you visual kei, angura kei or gothic band? Hibiki: I am seldom conscious of a genre. It's a dark band if it dares say. Listeners may opt for the category "kei". Tasc: It's a lock band. Have a dark atmosphere, there have a gothi element. A makeup and excessive performance are carried out as a means for telling a musical piece intelligibly. Consequently, it is unavoidable to be regarded as a visual kei. MAYA: I am going to make a new genre called Calmando Qual individually,and am doing. It's a Rock band if it dares say. Tak: To listeners, since it is a bad influence, I'm not conscious of categorize a band, but,I think that all have rooted into my own soul. Harlock: You are playing with visual kei bands. What do you think about current japanese music scene? Kenka: Current is surely exists for every time for that reason I can't deny. Probably, it will be required. But in nothing in the band poured by fashion, it is looking objective. Tasc: The market of visual kei is used. but,I'm not especially conscious. Although I'm conscious of the current in respect of sound quality, but I will reach to an extreme of the thing which myselves, such as atmosphere, words, etc. of music, want to do. because,current is unrelated. Hibiki:The music of fashion doesn't listen, and it is disagreeable, it doesn't understand. MAYA:I feel that there is much throwing away for music in current, it is regrettable. But,the thing of current music also an artist is making good music, a favorite thing also exists. Tak: I think that it is greatest as a scale of a market. But, the image "A lock is heresy" is in my heart. Because on the present music scene, a lock feels it very few. I recognize it to be Android production scene which desires to be an idol and being categorize. Harlock: What kind of music do you listen? Hibiki: Well, anything will be heard if pleased. but except an idol. Kenka:A good thing is heard anything. My part means that great base music is favorite! Tasc: Music with the heart is liked and listened to. And I listen to music various for the study of tone sound, and I have had it use the material which can be used. MAYA: I'm heard also with a Rock, Pops,Fusion,Classic, and what. An idol also hears it (laugh) Tak: I can't writing at all (laugh) Harlock: You have released a maxi-single, and finished a tour promoting that single. What are you doing right now? Are you thinking about new compositions? Hibiki: Although the new idea is made, still, a band is not perfect. However,I want to carry out somehow by future tour and to announce new vision to everybody, a fan, on a stage. MAYA: A drum arrangement, and Composition, etc.... Tasc: We have still tour, a new song is made in connection with it! I want to also introduce new equipments. Kenka: Work of the next release, a surprise idea, and a full load! Tak: The organization of the band towards a new design and an ideal is built. I devises in the world still more. Harlock: It is a big pleasure for me that I had a chance to make that conversation with you. This interview will be available in both polish and english versions, co could you say something to all your fans in Europe? Kenka: I want people of Europe to see early. What reaction is there? Even if we are in far land, Calmando Qual does not betray you! Tasc: Are you listened to music? MAYA: I have received influence in European music very much. Since accepting in Europe of a musical house should very honorable. I do my best so that it may surely become so! Tak: If you want to come to find some new things, please touch always.
